Integra Fuels S.L. was established Spain in 1987, to provide international commercial and logistics support to Group Companies involved in the production of carbon fuels including specialised coal, anthracite and other carbon products such as industrial and activated charcoal.
In this role, the Company has introduced and managed the supply of these fuels and products to industrial clients in over 60 countries around the world of which in many cases, Integra Fuels has pioneered the acceptance of international imports and has played a key role in the introduction and development of new technical applications and supporting logistics and handling systems.
As a result of the above, the company has developed considerable expertise within the fields of fuels supply, blending, quality control, combustion, management and logistics.
During the late 90’s due to changing market conditions and growing public concern, in addition to the groups internal environmental philosophy, the decision was taken to form a division specialised in environmental and renewable fuels, including the production of both solid and liquid fuels and the technology necessary for direct and co-combustion within industrial facilities.
Although the introduction of renewable fuels within the companies client base and market segment was initially gradual and often only reluctantly initiated due to political pressure and or emissions penalties, Integra Fuels has experienced very rapid growth within the renewable market over the last years and in particular within the European Union.
In view of this growth, the decision was taken in the first quarter of 2004, to promote Integra Fuels as a specialist, vertically integrated, renewable fuels organisation. This was achieved by transferring the companies existing fossil fuels activities to other group companies specialised in the international fossil fuel market, while retaining its core expertise within the sector. Its position has furthermore been reinforced by integrating the groups extensive experience and network in the Agricultural and Forestry sectors.
Following this decision, the Company’s position in the industrial renewable fuels sector both within the European Union and Internationally has been consolidated and is now recognised as a reference and desirable partner by a rapidly growing portfolio of clients.
Today Integra Fuels represents a leading and dynamic organisation, combining enthusiasm and creativity with practical multidisciplinary knowledge and proven industrial and international experience, within the solid and liquid renewable fuels market. The company continues to expand and strengthen both its expertise and international presence in order to provide its clients the in depth knowledge, products and services required to meet the demands and obligations of an increasingly environmentally conscious society and industry.
